RLT Academy Workshops registering now


Rome Little Theatre's Academy is now registering for workshops and classes geared toward children, adults and seniors!

Academy Sessions run as follows:

SESSION ONE: February 18 - March 18

SESSION TWO: April 22 - May 20

ONE DAY WORKSHOPS: May 13 & 20

The sessions feature classes for all ages. For kids, there are classes such as "Play Time" for ages 4 to 6, "Creative Dramatics" for ages 7 to 9 which are offered in both sessions.

Session One will also feature "Young Actors Studio" for 10 to 12 year olds and "Teen Actors Studio" for 13 to 17 year olds. Session Two offers "Access Theatre" and "Musical Theatre" =, both for 10 to 16 year olds.

For Adults, Session One offers "Improv for Adults" and Session Two offers "Readers Theatre." There are one-day workshops centered on stage management, being a crew member and commercial acting.

Our Senior series is also offering classes. Seniors learn acting skills and then perform in front of a live audience.

Session One: Wednesdays & Sundays: January 4-March 22 from 6 to 9 p.m. Performances are March 25-April 9, 2017​.

Session Two: Tuesdays and Thursdays: January 24-April 11, 2017 from 9 a.m. to Noon. Performances are April 16-28, 2017.

Born of the American Little Theatre Movement, Rome Little Theatre is proud to be one of the oldest community theatres in the country.  From its founding in 1933 to its WWII hiatus and its 1956 revival, and from its residencies at the Gordon Theatre and the Maple Street Community Center to its current home at the Historic DeSoto Theatre, RLT is woven artfully into the rich, historical fabric of Rome, Georgia.

For decades, RLT has been committed to entertaining, engaging, and educating our community through the practice and promotion of the theatre arts. Our success is built on the generous contributions of generations of volunteers, donors, and patrons.
