RLT is excited to announce our spring academy sessions for both novice and seasoned actors!

Through these workshops and courses, develop improv skills, gain confidence for your daily life, become more comfortable in front of an audience and have fun... adulting.

ONE DAY WORKSHOPS: May 13 & 20

READER'S THEATRE Session 2

Age ADULTS | Fee $45

Saturdays, April 22 - May 20 | 4:00-5:30PM

Reader's Theatre is a style of theatre in which actors read from a script and use vocal expression to convey the story. There are no sets, costumes, props, or movements. The session will culminate in a performance on May 20 at the DeSoto Theater.

BACKSTAGE BOOT CAMP One Day Workshop

Ages 15-ADULT | Fee $15

Saturday, May 13 | 9:30-11:30 AM

This class provides an overview of the responsibilities and expectations of being on the running crew of an RLT production. Participants will tour the backstage area for a hands-on experience, and will learn terminology and skills necessary to be a successful crew member.

THE BUSINESS OF ACTING One Day Workshop

Ages 15-ADULT | Fee $15

Saturday, May 13 | 9:30-11:30 AM

Have you wanted to audition for commercial work but didn't know where to start? This workshop will give you the information and tools you need to get started. Taught by 20-year commercial acting veteran, Jan Nisbet.

INTRO TO STAGE MANAGEMENT One Day Workshop 

Ages 15-ADULT | Fee $15

Saturday, May 20 | 9:30-11:30 AM

Learn how to prepare for a production, run rehearsals, and work with the production team. Students will receive sample templates to begin their own Stage Manager Toolkits.

Born of the American Little Theatre Movement, Rome Little Theatre is proud to be one of the oldest community theatres in the country.  From its founding in 1933 to its WWII hiatus and its 1956 revival, and from its residencies at the Gordon Theatre and the Maple Street Community Center to its current home at the Historic DeSoto Theatre, RLT is woven artfully into the rich, historical fabric of Rome, Georgia.

For decades, RLT has been committed to entertaining, engaging, and educating our community through the practice and promotion of the theatre arts. Our success is built on the generous contributions of generations of volunteers, donors, and patrons.

Rome Little Theatre presents quality theatrical productions and programs that entertain, inspire, challenge, and contribute to the cultural life of the community.

 

RLT is an active supporter of the Arts in Rome and Floyd County.
