For more than two decades, Chris has performed, taught, managed, designed,

and directed for theatres and organizations throughout the Southeast.
Chris is the former Director of Education for RLT. She recently directed RLT's productions of Spamalot and Into the Woods and produced White Christmas the Musical, and Forever Plaid.
James Swendsen

James hails from the small town of Adrian, Michigan. After graduating high school, he enrolled at Eastern Michigan University where he received his Bachelors degree in Theatre Arts and went on to get a degree in Acting for Film and Television from Vancouver Film School in Vancouver, B.C.


James has worked on various TV shows such as "Let's Stay Together"; "Bloodlands" and "Your Worst Nightmare" as well as a national commercial for 5 Hour Energy. He has also earned theatre Credits from all over the United States and Canada.


In recent years, he has stepped away from the professional world to start a

family in Rome with his wife, Amanda, and beautiful baby girl, Avery.

Jessica Kennedy

Jessica Kennedy was born and raised in the Golden Isles of Georgia. There she found a love of music and migrated north to Shorter College to earn a Bachelor's in Music Education. 


Loving the area, she found a job in Gordon County Schools at Sonoraville Middle where she taught for 11 years. While there she earned her Master's in Music Education from the University of Georgia (GO DAWGS!) and her Education Specialist Degree from Lincoln Memorial University. Currently, she teaches Chorus at Rome Middles School and is the director for Grand Illusion. She has directed many middle school musicals during her teaching career.


She has been a part of several productions at Rome Little Theatre including The Sound of Music, A Christmas Carol, Spamalot, White Christmas and Into the Woods.

Kelly Hill

Kelly is a teacher at Rome High School where she assistant directs the drama club.


She has been involved with theatre most of her life and loves any opportunity to be around the stage. She is active with Rome Little Theatre and has been seen most recently in Secret Garden and Into the Woods.


Next season she will be assistant directing the RLT musical production of 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.


Kelly is very excited to be teaching Creative Dramatics and looks forward to meeting and having a great time with all of the kids!

Maegan Williams

Maegan Williams is a registered and licensed Occupational Therapist with 6 years experience in pediatrics with special needs.


Along with her love of children she has always had a passion for theater. She has performed in numerous shows throughout high school, college, and on the RLT stage.


She has worked alongside Equity Actors in productions such as Medea and A Doll's House at the Regional Long Wharf Theater in Connecticut and was awarded Runner Up in the Region 1 Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival for the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship Award.


She has previously taught theater classes for children ages 6-15 with High Functioning Autism, ADHD, and Aspergers' syndrome. The theater is a place of discovery, learning, and friendship. Maegan is excited to share her experiences and knowledge and create an environment of acceptance and fun!


Lacey Pinson

Lacey Pinson has been dancing since the age of 3.


After high school graduation, earned a BFA in dance from the University of Georgia.


After college, Lacey continued her performance career with Staibdance, a contemporary dance company out of Atlanta.


She now teaches dance and drama at Model High school, where she has been teaching for 6 years.




Born of the American Little Theatre Movement, Rome Little Theatre is proud to be one of the oldest community theatres in the country.  From its founding in 1933 to its WWII hiatus and its 1956 revival, and from its residencies at the Gordon Theatre and the Maple Street Community Center to its current home at the Historic DeSoto Theatre, RLT is woven artfully into the rich, historical fabric of Rome, Georgia.

For decades, RLT has been committed to entertaining, engaging, and educating our community through the practice and promotion of the theatre arts. Our success is built on the generous contributions of generations of volunteers, donors, and patrons.

The mission of RLT is to present amateur theatrical productions, encourage interest in drama, and contribute to the cultural and educational life of the community. RLT is an active supporter of the Arts in Rome and Floyd County. 

RLT is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law.
